Release Date: 2008
Genre: Documentary
Plot: ROW HARD, NO EXCUSES follows two middle-aged men who compete in a 3,000-mile transatlantic rowing race. The Atlantic Rowing Challenge is a semiannual event routed from the Canary Islands to Barbados. Two-person teams pay an entry fee of $19,000 and utilize only approved 24-foot kit boats (another $150,000) they build themselves. There is no cash prize for the winner. All supplies must be onboard from the start.

Among the oldest competitors in the 2001 race, 51-year-old John Zeigler and 41-year-old Tom Mailhot are New Englanders who embark on this "wonderful adventure" for various personal reasons. Tom will introduce the film, which will be shown in both Easton and St. Michaels during the festival, and share his race experiences.
